Sadhana Das passes away

Sadhana Das (69 years), wife of a benevolent social worker of Jorhat Jiten Das has left her mortal body on 21st June, 2007 at Dispur Hospital, Guwahati. She has left behind her husband, her only son Mr. Jyotimoi Das and her two daughters along with many other relatives.

Poachers in the famed Kaziranga National Park have stepped up strikes striking the advantage of the current flood wave. In yet another incident of rhino killing rerun, poachers on Wednesday killed a full grown female rhino along with her calf in Kaziranga and took the horns away. The shocking incident took place in the Bagori range of the national park where the forest guards in the flooded sanctuary spotted the carcass of the female rhino and her calf.

The Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) on Monday gave hint of a massive agitation alleging Centre’s indifference towards Assam where lakhs of people have been reeling under flood that has claimed nearly 40 people.
