The overall flood scene refuses to improve on Saturday where the toll has gone up to 36 following the death of 8 more people on Friday alone. The river Brahmaputra and its tributaries have still been flowing dangerously submerging more areas in 22 districts affecting over 25 lakh people. Apart from breaching many embankments, vital roads and bridges in the flood hit areas have been washed away rendering lakhs of people homeless. The worst-hit districts include Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Sivasagar, Golaghat, Bongaigaon, Jorhat, Barpeta, Goalpara, Dhubri, Darrang, Sonitpur, Kokrajhar, Biswanath, Nalbari, Baksa, Udalgluri, Kamrup (M), Chirang, Kamrup, South Kamrup and Morigaon where the government...
